Biography

Claudia Doderer

1957 born in Wiesbaden, lives and works in Berlin
1978–1983 studied with Achim Freyer (stage design) at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Berlin, attended Dieter Schnebel’s lectures (experimental composition)
1983–1986 assistant (stage direction / stage design) at the Opera Houses of Brussels, Cologne, Oslo and Paris
Since 1986: freelance work in the fields of staging, spatial and costume design. Since then, her work has concentrated on collaborations with contemporary composers. It involves the creation of settings for new forms of music theater, musical installations, and abstract spatial contexts for music.
